Researcher, Economics

Aslesh is a researcher who leads the economic team at PEI. He has a keen interest in social welfare, fiscal federalism, climate change, globalization, and trade. Before joining PEI, Aslesh was a faculty member of Economics at the National College-Centre for Development Studies. He has also worked as a data analyst at Metrica Sports, Amsterdam, and as a research assistant in the non-profit and private sectors. As a 2023 SANDEE grant recipient, he is leading research on energy access and its impact on climate vulnerability of households in Nepal. 

Aslesh holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), the Hague, where he majored in Economics of Development and specialized in ‘Econometric Analysis of Development Policies’.
